A low-pressure mercury vapour discharge lamp to generate u/v radiation in the wavelength range from some 170 to 280 nm for the irradiation of liquid or gaseous media and/or surfaces. The low pressure mercury vapour discharge lamp has a lamp tube (12) on the inner wall (14) of which there is at least one metal filling (32) forming an amalgam. Said metal filling is on the inside of the lamp tube at at least one point between the electrodes of the lamp, and the outer wall of the lamp tube is in mechanical contact with a cooler (46) at this point. |
