PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat seal device with which sufficient sealing strength can be obtained when a lid with a lug for opening is to be sealed, scorch is not generated at the lug, and sufficient sealable property can be obtained for a container whose sealing face is not flat. SOLUTION: A heat resistant elastic body 6 for pressing a lid 7 to a container opening edge 9 has a ring-like shape and its inner diameter is about the same as a bore of a container 8. A magnetic body 4 for increasing heating effect by concentrating magnetic flux has a ring-like shape and is arranged inside the heat resistant elastic body 6 at a distance from the elastic body 6 and in a manner that their bottom faces are at the same level. A ring-like induction heating coil 3 for heating a part corresponding to the container opening edge of the lid 7 fills up the distance between the magnetic body 4 and the heat resistant elastic body 6 and has an annular downward protrusion 3c whose bottom face is almost the same as the bottom faces of the magnetic body 4 and the heat resistant elastic body 6.
