PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To objective the subject new compound having high contrast between a coloring part and a discoloring part, excellent in storage property of image and useful as a developer for reversible heat-sensitive recording materials. SOLUTION: This compound is expressed by formula I [(n) is 15-19)], e.g. N-(p-toluenesulfonyl)-N'-[4-(n-alkoxycarbonylamne)phenyl]urea. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula II with a isocyanate of formula III in a solvent such as toluene. The reversible heat-sensitive recording material can be utilized as a prepaid cards, point cards, paper for facsimile used many times, display material, etc., not requiring energy so as to retain image. Coloring or discoloring can be carried out by only heat treatment using a small-sized apparatus. The compound of formula I is included in a heat- sensitive recording layer of the reversible heat-sensitive recording material together with a dye precursor or a binder for fixing these components to a support. |
