<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniform the exhaust particulate accumulating quantity of filter elements by setting the exhaust particulate collecting capacity of a filter element near an exhaust lead-in port between a plurality of filter elements relatively small, and setting pressure loss at the time of collecting exhaust particulates relatively large. SOLUTION: Porous filters 6, 7 are disposed in parallel in a filter case 1 interposed in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine, and heaters 8, 9 are mounted on the inner peripheral surface side of the respective filters 6, 7. An exhaust lead-in port 2 from the exhaust passage to the filter case 1 is provided on the filter 9 side. In this case, it is so set that the exhaust particulate collecting capacity of a filter element near the exhaust lead-in port 2 is smaller than that of the other filter element and that pressure loss at the time of collecting exhaust paritculates is larger. The exhaust particulate accumulating quantity of each filter element is thereby made equal, and the filter temperature at the time of regeneration is suppressed to the target temperature or lower in each filter element.</p> |
