PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an effective composition for preventing pines from dying excellent is controlling activities against Bursaphelenchus lignicolus. SOLUTION: This composition for preventing pines from dying comprises at least one compound selected from the group of milbemycin compounds consisting of 13-(α-methoxyiminophenylacetoxy)milbemycin A4 , 13-(a- methoxyiminophenylacetoxy)milbemycin A3 , 13-[2-phenyl-2-(2-pyrimidinylthio) acetoxy]milbemycin A4 , 13-[2-phenyl-2-(2-pyrimidinylthio)acetoxy]milbemycin A3 , milbemycinα11 , milbemycinα14 , 4"-deoxy-4"-methylaminoavermectin B1a and 4"-deoxy-4"-methylaminoavermectin B1b as an active ingredient. A surfactant is added to thereby improve the solubilizing properties in water and promote effects of the active ingredient.
