PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid deformation due to a load produced during the movement of an inner cable and to simplify a process for providing a retainer mounting part by providing a bush part on that side of the retainer which faces a guide pulley, providing each bracket plate with a raised piece, and fitting and supporting the retainer inside a recess in the end of the raised piece. SOLUTION: An outer cable 17 is supported at its ends on upper and lower bracket plates 15 via a retainer 30. Both ends 12b of an inner cable which are projected toward a guide pulley 19 from the retainer 30 are supported on a guide recess 31a in a raised piece 31 via a bush part 36. Because the retainer 30 has its front wall part made to abut to the raised piece 31, the retainer 30 is pressed against the raised piece 31 by means of both a load produced by the movement of the end 12b and the pressing force of the flat steel wire of the outer cable 17. Therefore, destruction due to compressive loads is unlikely to occur, and the retainer 30 causes no creep deformation around the inner cable. A process for a mounting part can thus be simplified.
