PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nonwoven fabric extensible under low stress, having adequate transverse extensibility, and capable of giving a stretchable product free from pleat crease through being laminated with an elastic baterial. SOLUTION: First, a raw fabric, a nonwoven fabric >=150% in transverse tensile elongation, >=400g/5cm in the maximum tensile load and having the following relationships: when 0<=ε<=50, F<=ε and when 50<=ε<=100, F<=3×ε-100 (F is tensile load: g/5cm; ε is tensile elongation: %) is made by spinning a polymer blend of 10wt.% of a polypropylene A 5-20g/10min in MFR and 90wt.% of a polypropylene B with a MFR 10-20g/10min greater than that of the polypropylene A into eccentric sheath-core type crimped conjugate fibers which are then collected on a relevant belt followed by interlacing through thermal embossing process. Next, the nonwoven fabric as the raw fabric is longitudinally oriented at 130 deg.C by a factor of 1.5 using a drawing machine with rolls spaced 5m apart so as to be 60% in width contraction. |
