PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance measuring accuracy of a turning angle of both rotors, and secure desired compression efficiency by correcting torque to a rotational phase difference between both rotors at torque unadded time from a rotational phase difference between both rotors at torque added time, and adjusting a gap between the rotors by a rotational phase difference between both rotors obtained by this correction. SOLUTION: Torque is added in the reverse rotation direction to a female rotor 2, and when a male rotor 1 is rotated in the normal rotation direction, a difference CW (=θF-θM) in a turning angle when tooth surfaces of both rotors 1 and 2 contact with each other becomes an advancing surface gap (c). Torque is added in the normal rotation direction to the female rotor 2, and when the male rotor 1 is rotated in the reverse rotation direction, a difference in a turning angle when tooth surfaces of both rotors 1 and 2 contact with each other becomes a retreating surface gap (d). The sum of the advancing surface gap (c) and the retreating surface gap (d) becomes the total gap. Torque is corrected to a rotational phase difference between both rotors at torque unadded time from a rotational phase difference between both rotors 1 and 2 at torque added time, and a gap between the rotors 1 and 2 is adjusted by a rotational phase difference between both rotors by this correction value.
