PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent gel from being formed on fiber surfaces and inhibit its fabric hand from being deteriorated, when hollow fibers are filled their hollow parts with gel to produce functional fibers excellent in durability. SOLUTION: A liquid capable of forming gel is introduced through continuous holes into the hollow parts in the hollow fiber in which continuous holes extending from the fiber surface to the hollow parts scatter. Then, the hollow fiber is treated with another liquid which can dissolve or disperse the introduced liquid to substantially remove the gel-forming liquid sticking to the fiber surfaces, and simultaneously or after the removal, the liquid in the hollow parts is converted to gel. |
