PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inhibitor having an acyl coenzyme-A cholesterol acyl transferase activity(ACAT) inhibiting action and useful for curing or prevention of arterial atheroma or unbalancing of lipid of skin, etc. SOLUTION: The objective activity inhibitor is preferably composed of essence of a plant in any of Ligustrum pulpurasence or Ligustrum pedoncrale belonging to genus Ligustrum in family Oleaceae. Preferably, a using position of the essence is a leaf part and the essence is an extract from a polar solvent. An optimum one in the essence is obtained by extracting a leaf part with hot water, adsorbing to a suitable carrier, eluting with ethanol and condensing under a reduced pressure. The inhibitor is administrated to a human of hyperlipemia, arteriosclerosis, etc. or coated on a skin containing excess fats, etc., as a food or a medicinal composition. |
