PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of an impulsive sound due to collision of conveying members such as a conveying roller or the like and breakage of a shaft for supporting the conveying member caused by the above collision. SOLUTION: A sheet member conveying mechanism comprises a pressing device 10 for always bringing a driven roller 2 into contact with a driving roller 1, and a pressing force switching means including a solenoid 12 for switching the pressing force of the pressing device 10 to a first pressing force for clamping and conveying a sheet member P by the driven roller 2 and the driving roller 1 and to a second pressing force for generating no conveying force to the sheet member P, a tension spring 9 and the like. When the pressing force is switched to the second pressing force, a sheet member P fed in between the driven roller 2 and the driving roller 1 is not subjected to the conveying force of the roller, but conveyed as it is. On the other hand, when the pressing force is switched to the first pressing force, a sheet member P fed in between the rollers is conveyed by the conveying force of the rollers. |
