<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean a conveying means in a sheet conveying apparatus while abrasion of the conveying means due to cleaning is reduced as much as possible. SOLUTION: A sheet conveying apparatus comprises a first feeding means which is disposed opposite to the uppermost sheet 6 stored in a sheet loading means 1a in such a manner as to approach and separate from the uppermost sheet 6 and driven in rotation in contact with the uppermost sheet 6 to feed the uppermost sheet first, second feeding means 2, 3 for feeding a sheet fed from the first feeding means, and a second feeding means cleaning device 31 moved, interlocking with the approaching and separating operation of the first feeding means to the uppermost sheet 6 to approach and separate from the uppermost sheet 6. The cleaning member 31b is not always kept from coming into contact with the second feeding means and when the member is brought into contact with the second feeding means, the second feeding means is cleaned.</p> |
