METHOD FOR PURIFYING WATER OR SOIL CONTAMINATED WITH PHENANTHRENE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for purifying water or soil contaminated with phenanthrene by which water or soil contaminated with phenanthrene can be easily and efficiently purified without accumulating 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoate which is a partial decomposed product of phenanthrene. SOLUTION: Water or soil contaminated with phenanthrene is treated with microorganism which belongs to burkhorderia and has a function to decompose phenanthrene.
