When the performer starts a performance with the function switches properly set up, the microcomputer(3) judges the step and length of the key and conveys the performance information to the sound range IC(8). The sound range IC(8) processes the corresponding information and outputs the data to the D/A converter(9). And it reads the sustain input value and compares it with the initial setting value, as they are the same, sets the sustain flag at 0, and when the performer takes hands off the key board, senses it thru the key board scan(1). If the microcomputer transmits the note off information to the sound range IC(8), it ignores the note off message transmitted, recognizing it to be on status and continues occurring sounds.
