PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed change control device for an automatic transmission for a vehicle to perform smooth deceleration or rapid speed change according to the will or the operation state of a driver at a time when manual speed change is effected a plurality of times. SOLUTION: When it is decided by a multiplex operation deciding means 162 that a down shift switch 77 is continuously operated a plurality of times, according to a vehicle state decided by a vehicle state deciding means 164, either a speed change mode wherein a gear stage is shifted at one stage at a time or a speed change mode wherein gear stages are shifted at a stroke by a plurality of stages corresponding to the number of operation times of a down shift switch 77 is executed by a manual speed change control means 160. Thus, advantages wherein when manual speed change operation by the down shift switch 77 is effected a plurality of times, smooth deceleration and rapid multistage speed change are carried out according to the operation will of a driver are provided. |
