PHOSPHATIDYL CHOLINE STEROL ACYL TRANSFERASE ACTIVITY ACCELERATOR AND COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an activity accelerator having phosphatidyl choline sterol acyl transferase activity accelerating action and suitable for curing and prevention of hyperlipemia disease. SOLUTION: This accelerator is composed of essence of a plant belonging to genus Ligustrum in family Oleaceae (preferably Ligustrum pedoncrale or Ligustrum pulpurasence). The essence is preferably an extract from a polar solvent or its distilled out substance from the solvent. A using position in the used plant is preferably a leaf part. An optimum one in the essence is obtained by extracting a leaf part with hot water, adsorbing to a suitable carrier, eluting with ethanol and condensing under a reduced pressure. A suitable administration dose of the essence is 5-500mg for an adult per 1 day in dividing to several times in a case of oral administration and 1-100mg in a case of an injection.
