Cargo heating system for oil tanker vessel

The turbine steam outlet side is provided with a cut-off valve to the condensers and valves and a pipe conduit from the turbine outlet to a heat exchanger positioned on the deck. Steam is conducted so that it first passes through the turbine driving the pump which circulates the oil in the tanks through the heat exchanger placed on the deck. In a further version, the condenser is replaced entirely by a deck-mounted heat exchanger which partly fulfils the function of heating the cargo oil, and partly on discharge functions as condenser for the turbine. On discharge of cargo, heat in the outlet steam from the turbine is used, with the sea water for cooling the heat exchanger circulated in a tank which is heated up to approximately 80 deg. C. The sea water is then used for tank cleaning.
