The tray which is made from a single cardboard blank comprises a rectangular base on the periphery of which are folded upwards mutually locking edges (2,3,4,5). Two of the edges (2,3) can be extended at each end by a panel folded around a vertical groove (14,15,16,17) into the plane of the adjacent edge. Each of these panels, folded into the shape of a dihedral, constitutes a corner partition raised above the main volume and creates an additional volume partially open on its four faces. This enables access and examination of the contents. The tray comprises device for making it adjustable in height. Each of the panels forming the dihedral corner partitions has, towards its upper end, a horizontal groove (18,18',19,19',20,20',21,21') defining a foldable portion. Folding the panel on top of the groove against the internal face of the remaining portion of the panel defines a useful height and additional volume.
