The fibre has a central core (15) with sheathed optical fibre and a bundle of tension-resistant fibres (16) surrounded by an outer sheath (17). The socket has a threaded wall to the central space to house the locking nut (19) of the cone (12) and it is joined to the outer sheath by heat shrinking tubing (20) around a given length of the sheathing and a end section (13a) of the socket. The end section and the socket have a peripheral rim (21) to strengthen the coupling with the tubing. A synthetic plastic extraction casing (22) is placed coaxially around the optical cable and the external socket, formed from two semi-circular shells with flanges (23) and grooves to transmit a pulling force. |
