The system comprises a number of independent movable support plates in which the articles (4) are positioned. These support plates are displaced in translation in a first horizontal runner system (1) by pushrods (13), activated by a system of indexers or actuators, so as to occupy successively a number of work posts. A second system of indexers or actuators (9), acting on connecting rods (7), translates the plates vertically on supports (5,6). These supports displace the plates with an appropriate movement, from top to bottom or vice versa, so as to lead them to or from a second horizontal runner system (2) at the end of their travel. The support plates are displaced horizontally on the second runners by the first pushrods.
