The mechanism is for operating the manual transmission in the vehicle with a simple structure. It comprises 2 limit plates, facing each other, fixed in a rear cover and a clutch housing; a hollow fork shaft axially moving according to the revolving of shift levers within the limit plates; 3 shift fork moving axially on the fork shaft and having 3 notches for moving elastically locking balls; control fingers selectively coupled with select grooves of the limit plates; a grooved cam lifting a pin.
