POWER FEED DEVICE FOR SEWER AND DRAIN CLEANER

A power feed device (32) for use with a sewer and drain cleaning machine (30) comprises a main housing coupled to the drum (35). First and second rollers (42, 50) are mounted within roller housings (40, 48) and are respectively biased by a biasing mechanism (80) toward the rotatable cable (36). A cable centering mechanism (150, 152) is provided for centering the cable between the rollers (42, 50). A roller moving mechanism (60, 84) is provided for moving the rollers (42, 50) from a first position wherein the rotating cable (36) is not advanced or retracted along its elongate axis, to a second position wherein the rotating cable (36) may be advanced or retracted. The moving mechanism (60, 84) includes a roller coupling plate for coupling the rollers (42, 50) and a rotatable nose piece (84) mounted on the main housing whereby the rotation of the nose piece (84) causes a movement of the coupling plate (60) and the corresponding movement of the rollers (42, 50) from the first position to the second position.
