The device has a base, forming an adaptor for fitting to e.g. a housing (7), and bayonet-type assembly elements (6). These engage between the base (5) and the outer body of the declutching bearing (1), to mount the latter on the base, which has already been fastened to the housing. The base has a first section (58) to support the bearing, which is axially offset relative to the second fitting section. It also has centering elements to centre it relative to the housing.
