1,122,517. Control of A.C. motors. SIEMENS SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. 6 June, 1966 [4 June, 1965], No. 25187/66. Heading H2J. In an electrical power transmission system for ships, land vehicles or aircraft one or more three phase alternators, driven e.g. by gas turbines, supply one or more three phase squirrel cage traction motors through individual thyristor converters which are controlled to vary the frequency and/or voltage so that torque is inversely proportional to speed. The control is not described in detail but includes electronic circuits to effect reversal and may use Hall probes to detect motor flux. The alternators operate at constant speed and voltage. |
