<p>A method/system for processing waste, and the product produced by the method. The method supplies earthworms to a mixture of waste products, such that the earthworms digest the mixture and produce castings. The mixture comprises shredded paper, cardboard or like material, and, sludge, sewage or the like, which may typically contain high levels of heavy metals, such as cadmium. The process is particularly suitable for the processing of organic waste maerial from a sewage or sludge pond. The product may be used as a fertiliser, for example, on broad acre crops, or, as an aquaculture food source.</p> |
