Toroidal core current transformer esp. for three=phase current transformer design

The transformer has a toroidal core (3), a primary winding (4) fed through the core and a secondary winding (5) wound round the core. The secondary winding shape is non-circular. The primary winding can be a current rail (4). The toroidal core may only have the secondary winding wound around it at two places. The outer shape of the secondary winding can be oval. The current transformer (1) can be arranged with two similar devices to make up a three-phase unit. The planes contg. at least two converters are mutually offset and with the flux lines of their annular cores intersecting.
