The ram is particularly for the withdrawal bearing (42) of a diaphragm-type automotive clutch, having a piston (52) working in a cylindrical axial bush (64), and a movable annular wall (54) with concentric sections on its rear side towards the piston. Two annular actuating chambers (56,66) are situated axially one behind the other, the first one being supplied with a medium under pressure to move the piston rearwards and being enclosed between a fixed front wall (48) and the movable one. The second chamber (66) is enclosed between the movable wall and the piston. An intermediate chamber (68) enclosing the second one coaxially is enclosed at the front by the movable wall, it and the second chamber being separated by the bush (64), the piston working in the second chamber. The first chamber is enclosed in the radial direction between fixed axial cylindrical walls (50,46), and the intermediate chamber is enclosed at the rear by a fixed annular wall (70). The bush slides axially with the movable wall, to which it is joined at the forward end by a face separating the latter's concentric sections.
