The awning is mounted via a central supporting tube (1) and has hinge bearings (8) tilting the front bar (3) upwards in the shut position. A brake prevents undesirable upward movement of the folding arms (2). The tube and hinge bearings are so designed as to give a constant narrow gap between the front bar and the top cover (9).
