METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CLEANING A FIBER PULP WASHER FROM STICKIES

An apparatus and methods for cleaning a fiber pulp washer from stickies. The apparatus comprises a stationary casing and a rotatable drum, disposed inside the casing and having a liquid-pervious surface (7) having holes, slots or corresponding openings. Filtrate compartments (17), having side and bottom surfaces, are disposed inside the surface. The liquid-pervious surface of the drum comprises a number of replaceable elements (21). Cleaning wash methods, whereby the washer is disconnected from normal displacement wash process, are effected by feeding a cleaning wash liquid in the same direction as the wash liquid of the displacement wash process in a closed circulation. Other cleaning wash methods, which are continuous, are effected by supplying cleaning wash liquid onto the filter surface of the drum through nozzles, which nozzles are either moved continuously in the axial direction of the drum or are disposed in the axial direction along the whole length of the drum.
