The switch has a housing (3) containing at least one switch contact (7) operated by movement of a sliding operating element (5,27), acted on by the brake pedal, against the force of a resetting spring. The operating element is provided by a slider (5) and a relatively adjustable operating rod (27), the later having a stop which is rotated to bring it into engagement with a second stop provided by the slider, to lock it in the required adjustment position.
