Appts. for heat-bonding letters and logos to garments, comprises relatively movable top and bottom platens, at least one of which is heated under temp. control. When the platens are closed a timer is started and a sensor detects pressure exerted by the platens upon material between them, the pressure being selectable, pref. along with pressure and time. A visual display indicates pressure temp. and platens closure time pref. by displaying its elapse.
