The ring or narrow band, which forms the piece of the ear-ring, consists of two halves (1,2). One half (1) has a pin shaped catch (4) at one end which engages with an opening in a bush (5) on the other half. Alternatively the pin (4) can be in the shape of a 'T' which hinges into a 'U' shaped catch on the other half. The catch (4), on one half, extends from a cylindrical part (3), the hole in which is in line with holes in lugs (3) on the other half of the ring or band.
