PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater and heat insulator, light in weight, high in flexibility and convenient for portability by connecting fiber having high heat insulation to a heating sheet made of heat conductive fiber, and bringing a heating unit having a combustion catalyst and an igniter into pressure contact with the part of the sheet. SOLUTION: A heating sheet 1 for forming the surface of a portable mat is constituted by heat conductive fiber. As the fiber, for example, fabric that aluminum-plated glass having excellent heat diffusivity is knitted or carbon fiber is knitted is exemplified. Fiber 2 having high heat insulation such as the fiber used as a heat insulator is connected to the rear surface of the sheet 1. A heating element 4 is connected to the one end of the sheet 1. The connection is conducted by snugly holding the sheet 1 in the element 4 and bringing the element 4 into pressure contact with the sheet 1 by using a connecting screw 3. As the element 4, a gas catalyst burner 17 having a combustion catalyst 13 and an igniter 14 is used. |
