PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the ease of the separation of a sheet paper, with a toner image transferred to it, from an image carrier and the prevention of impairment of operability, waste toner scatter, damage to the image carrier, etc., all of which result from misseparation, by increasing the base fog of the toner image at the front end of the image on the image carrier. SOLUTION: At the time of the development of the front end of the image on the photoreceptor 20, a bias voltage which is applied to a developing roller 71, normally 200V, is decreased to 160V, and the base fog of the front end of the toner image is increased to 15% from 10% which is normal, thereby improving the releasability of a sheet paper P after transfer, and also improving operability and reliability. Further, by reducing an amount of the electrification charges of the front end of the image on the photoreceptor 20 to 660V from a normal value of 700V, the contrast of the entire toner image is made uniform despite the reduction of the bias voltage of the developing roller 71, and the image quality of the front end of the image is prevented from changing. |
