PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a potential control method and a toner replenishment control method for an image forming device by which potential can be accurately controlled in a short time without increasing toner consumption accompanied with the developing action of a latent image pattern and which is optimum for reproducing an image with respect to the fluctuation of developer. SOLUTION: Plural patch patterns provided with different toner attachment quantity are formed on a photoreceptor drum 103. Then, the potential and the toner attachment quantity of the patch patterns are measured by sensors 211 and 208. Based on the relation of data between the measured potential and the measured toner attachment quantity, the first developing characteristic of a developing device is calculated by a control part 201 so as to decide the various kinds of potential when the image is formed by the image forming device. Besides, a second developing characteristic is calculated based on the relation between the potential and the toner attachment quantity measured on a different measuring cycle from that of the deciding time of the respective potential. Then, the various kinds of potential when the image is formed by the image forming device are decided based on the first and the second developing characteristics. |
