PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To refer to only desired dictionary information by entering information showing the use period of word information into the electronic dictionary while relating it to the word information. SOLUTION: This electronic dictionary consists of a pair of a word storage part 1 and a word information storage part 2; and the word storage part 1 consists of, for example, reading character strings 1-1 and notation character strings 1-2, and the word information storage part 2 consists of a word information group 2-1. Use start period information and use end period information on each word are included in word information 2-1 and entered while related to the word information. The use start period information and use end period information described in the word information 2-1 mean that the word is effective when the date of its dictionary reference is after the date of the use start period information and before the date of the use end period information. Further, it is meant that a word which does not have use start period information and use end period information described is always effective. |
