<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable copying having high image quality while preventing the production of fog and white streaks due to the breakage and aggregation of particles even after use for a long time by specifying the wt. average mol.wt., number average mol.wt. and total residual monomer and solvent content of a vinyl copolymer. SOLUTION: This carrier contains a resin binder made of a vinyl copolymer having a wt. average mol.wt. of >=70,000, a number average mol.wt. of >=20,000 and <=2,000ppm total residual monomer and solvent content. The vinyl copolymer has improved toughness because of its wt. average mol.wt. of >=70,000 and its number average mol.wt. of >=20,000. Since the total residual monomer and solvent content is <=2,000ppm, the residual monomers and solvent are less liable to act as crosslinking water by permeation among particles and this carrier hardly causes breakage or aggregation even after use for a long time.</p> |
