PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance optical pickup with a low noise level and the optical pickup for a phase transition type optical disk. SOLUTION: This pickup is provided with a third beam splitter film 101 transmitting through a P polarization component by 100% and reflecting an S polarization component by a fixed rate in the optical axial direction of light transmitting through a first beam splitter film 9 and a 1/4 wavelength plate 103 converting the polarization direction of the light from a linear polarization to an elliptic polarization or from the elliptic polarization to the linear polarization in the optical axial direction of the reflected light. Further, the pickup is provided with a reflection mirror 104 reflecting the light reflected by the third beam splitter film 101. |
