A power control circuit of the monitor whereby the operation power of the monitor is turned off or operated in the power saving mode in accordance with the presence of the vertical and horizontal synchronous signal and the connection situation of the cable. The said circuit consist of a mode signal detector(40), a mode decision means(50), a operation mode controller(60), a power off operator(70) and a power saving mode operator(80).
