PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain dicyanobenzene useful as a raw material of a synthetic resin, a medicine, agricultural chemicals, a pigment, a dye, etc., at a high yield. SOLUTION: The objective dicyanobenzene is obtained by reacting xylene with ammonia and an enzyme in a gas phase in the presence of an oxide composition as a catalyst composition of the formula: Fe10 Sba Vb Pc Crd Xe Yf Zg Oh (X is Mo and/or W; Y is Li, etc.; suffixes (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) and (f) express an atomic ratio of each element, and when Fe=10, (a)=7-50, (b)=2.5-15, (c)=0.1-5, (d)=0-8, (e)=0-3, (g)=0-5 and (h) is a number corresponding to an oxide generating by bonding each component). For instance, xylene, ammonia and an enzyme are placed in a reactor filled with a catalyst and subjected to a reaction on a fluidized bed preferably at 340-460 deg.C under about normal pressure-2kg/cm<2> for 0.5-10sec. Preferably, xylene concentration in the gas is 0.3-7vol%, a molar ratio of ammonia/xylene is 1.5-10 and a molar ratio of enzyme/xylene is 3.5-10. |
