摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a linear polyvinylsilane made up of specific recurring unit, capable of producing a high-molecular-weight cross-linked organosilicon polymer by dehydrogenating condensation reaction and capable of producing silicon carbide in high recovery by baking the cross-linked organosilicon polymer. SOLUTION: This polyvinylsilane is made up of recurring unit of the formula, and obtained, for example, by polymerizing (A) a compound of the formula CH2 =CHSiX3 (X is a lower alkoxyl or halogen) in the presence of (B) a free radical catalyst such as a peroxide to form a linear polymer with pendant group of the formula SiX3 followed by reducing the polymer with (C) a reducing agent such as aluminum lithium hydride or bis(ethoxymethoxy)aluminum hydride.
