PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ethylene/α-olefin/non-conjugated polyene random copolymer having excellent processability, high vulcanization rate and mechanical properties such as strengths after vulcanization and to provide its producing method, and further to obtain a vulcanizable rubber composition containing the copolymer. SOLUTION: This vulcanizable rubber composition contains an ethylene/αolefin/non-conjugated polyene random copolymer. The random copolymer can be obtained by using a metallocene-based catalyst and is composed of (a) ethylene, (b) a >=3Cα-olefin and (c) a nonconjugated polyene having only one carbon-carbon double bond polymerizable with a metallocene catalyst among carbon-carbon double bonds in one molecule, having following properties: (i) (a) ethylene unit/(b) anα-olefin unit having >=3C in a molar ratio of (40/60)-(95/5), (ii) 1-50 iodine value, (iii) 0.1-8.0dl/g of [η] and (iv) gη* (=[η]/[η]blank ) =0.2-0.9 or g' (=[η]/[η]blank ') =0.2-0.9.
