PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide plate detection device/method, which can easily and speedily execute the plate detection work of two original plate film groups consisting of plural plates of films. SOLUTION: An input scanner 20 reads the pictures of the original plate film before and after correction for respective plates and stores them in a reference picture memory 1 and an other picture memory 2. A comparison/ collation part 8 compares picture data before and after correction in block units for the respective plates, detects a difference part and sets flags in the pertinent addresses of corresponding different block tables 9Y, 9M, 9C and 9K. A difference display part 11 refers to the different block tables 9Y, 9M, 9C and 9K, obtains the combinations of the plates having the different parts for the respective blocks refers to a display method table 12, obtains a display method corresponding to the combination of the obtained plates, displays the respective different parts by the obtained display method, synthesizes them into one picture and outputs it to a color monitor 30 and a color printer 40. |
