PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably reduce the frequency of maintenance inspection by providing a stress variation effect reduction construction reducing the effect of stress variation between the end face of a bearing and a packing ring. SOLUTION: Because a radial load of about 10 ton is loaded on the axle 1 of a railway rolling stock, bending is generated on the rotating axle 1. Then stress between the end face of an inner ring 2c and the end face 5a of a packing ring 5A and stress between the end face of an inner ring 2d and the end face 5b of a packing ring 5B are periodically varied synchronizing with rotation of the axle 1. But, because the end faces 5a, 5b of the packing rings 5A, 5B are formed with films for absorbing the stress variation, fretting due to such stress variation is prevented from generating on the end faces of the inner rings 2c, 2d, the end faces 5a, 5b of the packing rings 5A, 5B, and the like. As a result, mixing of abrasion powder of metal into the bearing is avoided, and hence the raceway surface can be prevented from chapping and the like. |
