PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the necessity of after-treatment after the ink jet recording and provide an ink jet recording material of superior water resistance without lowering ink absorbability by incorporating water-soluble photosensitive resin in an ink receptive layer formed on one face of a base and curing it. SOLUTION: An ink jet recording material is composed of a base and an ink receptive layer formed at least on one face of the base, and water-soluble photosensitive resin is contained in the ink receptive layer, and the ink receptive layer is cured before printing with recording ink. Although the water-soluble photosensitive resin contained in the ink receptive layer is converted into water- insoluble resin substantially after curing reaction, hydrophilic properties remains effective. Water resistance, therefore, can be improved while sufficient ink receptivity including ink absorbability and ink fixing properties is maintained. Sufficient water resistance can be provided by curing the photosensitive resin, and the ink jet recording material is particularly effective in the case the recording material after recording is used outdoors. |
