PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to efficiently record/erase signals by arranging plural memory cells on two-dimensional gratings, three-dimensionally laminating these two-dimensional gratings and assigning specific memory cells. SOLUTION: The memory cells 103 are formed by laminating magnetic layers having large coercive force and magnetic layers having small coercive force across nonmagnetic layers. The respective magnetic layers have the axis of easy magnetization in intra-surface directions 1, 2 parallel to a substrate 100. Electrode lines 104, 102 for recording are arranged above and below the memory cells 103. The currents of these electrode wires are parallel to the substrate 100 and are 45 deg.<=θ1<=135 deg., 45 deg.<=θ2<=135 deg. when the angle of the current I1 with the intra-surface direction 1 is defined asθ1, the angle of the current I2 with the intra-surface direction 2 asθ2. The memory cells 103 are arranged on the substrate 100 in the form of two-dimensional gratings and are three- dimensionally arranged by laminating the two-dimensional gratings as shown in Fig. The efficient recording/erasing of the signals are made possible by assigning the specific memory cells.
