WINDOW GLASS

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new window glass having self-cleaning ability with antifouling function based on its high lipid-decomposing activity while retaining sufficient light transmissivity as a window glass. SOLUTION: This window glass is obtained by providing at least one side of a glass plate 1 with a titanium dioxide thin film 2 having photocatalytic activity. The titanium dioxide thin film 2 has the following characteristics: linear transmittance for light 550nm in wavelength is >=50%; linear transmittance for light 350nm in wavelength is <=50%; and having ability to decompose >=0.5μg of linoleic acid per hour per cm<2> thin film when irradiated with ultraviolet light containing at least rays of light 300-400nm in wavelength at an intensity of 5mW/cm<2> . Thus, this window glass enables having epoch-making self-cleaning performance to effectively decompose even lipid components at such amounts as to adhere thereto in common living space while securing light transmissivity sufficient as a window glass.
