PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar code reader which can highly precisely detect a bar even if density information of the bar is low. SOLUTION: A density correction part 502 correcting the density of a input picture, a density detection part 503, a bar position detection part 504, a memory 508 for storing picture data, a specified position indication part 506 calculating the picture element position of an area, which is previously set, in an area where the bars are overlapped at the vertical projection time of the longitudinal direction of the bar from picture data which is read and a correction quantity calculation part 507 calculating the density correction quantity of the input picture based on density information of the picture element position calculated by a specified position indication are provided. Thus, the bar can highly precisely be detected even if density information of the bar is low. |
