METHOD FOR CONVERTING WASTE PLASTIC INTO OIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for converting a waste plastic to a decomposition oil which can continuously prepare a decomposition oil from a waste plastic at a high yield for a long period of time. SOLUTION: A plastic and a 1wt.% powdery sulfur are charged into a pulverizer 1 where the plastic is pulverized to prepare a pulverized flake which is then fed into an extruder 3. The extruder 3 heats and melts the plastic at 200 to 400 deg.C and kneads the melt to homogeneously disperse the powdery sulfur in the molten plastic, and the melt is then transferred at a constant rate into a tubular thermal decomposition device 4. The thermal decomposition device 4 heats the molten plastic with a powdery sulfur incorporated therein at 400 deg.C and thermally decomposes the plastic. A screw 7 scrapes scale deposited on the wall within the tube and transfers the scraped scale together with the molten plastic at a constant rate. The resultant gas is introduced into a receiving drum 8 and then condensed in a condenser 10 to prepare a decomposition oil.
