TREATMENT OF CHLORINE-CONTAINING PLASTIC WASTE AND TREATING DEVICE THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively and rapidly heat a chlorine-containing plastics and to treat it in high dechlorination ratio with suppressing evolution of a poisonous gas by irradiating a waste comprising a chlorine-containing plastic with microwave by a specific method. SOLUTION: A waste comprising a chlorine-containing plastics is irradiated with microwave, subjected to induction heating and dechlorinated at <=200 deg.C atmospheric temperature in a state in which the waste is dispersed in air at least temporarily. To be concrete, the following method is preferable. Namely, the waste is fed to a main body 1 of a furnace of a fluidized bed furnace type treating apparatus by a screw feeder 4 and a fluidizing gas is introduced from a gas inlet 3 to separate a heavy solid substance from a light nonreactive substance. The heavy solid substance containing a polyvinyl chloride-based resin is irradiated with a microwave from a microwave oscillator 10. The size of one side of the waste is preferably <=5mm. Preferably the waste heated by the induction heating is further dechlorinated by washing with water and burned.
